November is Support a Senior Pup Month!
“Hello, Dollee!”
t Last year in November, for Support a Senior Pup Month, we introduced you to Dollee. She had a 9lb mammary tumor that almost dragged the ground, it was so large, and a smaller mass on her hip. She was just so happy after her surgery, and she didn’t have to carry that mass around every again. It was life changing for her. Unfortunately, we only had her 3 months more after surgery, but what a great 3 months she had being 9lbs lighter…
This year we don’t have a special needs pup like Dollee, but that doesn’t mean that we won’t tomorrow or the next day. So, we implore you to donate to Lizzy’s during Senior Pup month. We are a small, niche, rescue, but we are a mighty rescue. We feel every challenge is an opportunity to show these sweet seniors that someone does care and is going to do their best to help them. And that someone is Lizzy’s. We hope you will make a donation to help these sweeties. You never know who will need our help next.
Hot Rod is another example. He is the little Chi. If you look closely, he doesn’t have any back legs. We had them amputated and he gets around like a champ. When he came to Lizzy’s, one back leg was dislocated from the body and the other had an injury that just wouldn’t heal. It was the best choice for the boy. He is 12 years old and the most lovely little guy. He is happy, plays with other dogs, loves his foster, and is looking for his forever family. Had we not taken off his legs, he would still be in pain and be limited in how he could enjoy his life. Some people would have never considered taking his legs without considering what his life has been like and would continue to be if that hadn’t been done. So, you never know, but we will tell you that each senior pup that you help us with gets the best care possible when coming to Lizzy’s. We make sure of that. Thank you for donating.
Thank you for your continued support of Lizzy's and our sweet pups.
We have photos of Dollee from before surgery and directly after surgery if you are interested. FOREWARNING: Some photos may be a bit much to look at. Click here.
